Hi, I’m Dee, a Java Developer living in London since 2007. For 8 years and 8 months I lived a pretty fun life in the big city, going to various live music gigs, comedy shows, night clubs to dance the night away, and weekend spa breaks to pamper myself.

Around Christmas 2015, I’d set some very ambitious goals (not resolutions) for myself to achieve from 1st January 2016… to become fit and healthy in body and mind, and rich in knowledge…

Wake up at 6am every day, exercise for 30 minutes, code for 1 hr, get to work on time, code for 1 hr every lunch break, finish work on time, enter three evening meetups/seminars per week or code some more at home.

Things were going well for the first 6 weeks of the 2016, until disaster struck in mid February where I had an accident that, after a few days, resulted in lower back pain, and eventually, the dreaded Sciatica.  My life was completely turned upside down when I realised my lower back pain wasn’t going away in a hurry, and frequent muscle spams became my regular past time through the day, completely taking over control of my body movements. Then numbness set in down one leg and foot.

I became so frustrated after 5 weeks off work sick, and not much activity, due to being drugged up to high heaven, pretty much round the clock on Cocodamol and Naproxen.  If it wasn’t bad enough I’d lost my mobility, I was almost loosing my sanity after weeks of watching bloody Jeremy Kyle and Homes Under the Hammer.
